The Sheriff’s Department of Madison County, NC has targeted business owners who are Muslim and of Yemeni descent and designated them as terrorists.
Van Duncan, in an obnoxious rant against an up-and-coming reporter, showed his ineptitude and fascism toward Muslim people, even implying they were targeted because he read it on Google.
Folks, you can’t make this stuff up. I thought maybe I would let this meathead respond, but no, he would only reply with something more racist and add to the impending lawsuit coming from these asinine comments.
The first fact check for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department chief deputy Van Dumbkin is that Sam, who owns Marshall Vape Shop, is American-born.
On Saturday, August 15th, around 12:00 PM, Buddy Harwood, Michael Garrison, and Van Duncan raided the Marshall Vape Shop, which is owned by a Yemeni businessman.
The day before, they had obtained a search warrant and brought several school resource officers into the operation, even though these officers had not been trained for such tasks.

The officers arrived with multiple vehicles, which startled the 22-year-old employee on duty. They asked for her employer, Sam, who was out of town. Not presenting a search warrant, they began seizing money and legal products, took the store key, and disabled the surveillance system.
The officers did not provide receipts for the items they confiscated, as required by law. When the employee asked if she could leave, they told her she needed to accompany them for further questioning.
Although she was not under arrest, she was compelled to accompany the officers, raising concerns about proper legal procedure.
The young employee found this situation distressing. People should know that, even if they are not accused of a crime, they have no obligation to go with the police or answer questions. If they are charged, it is advisable to get legal advice before responding.
Upon arrival at the sheriff’s office, her phone and Apple Watch were confiscated.
She reports that Michael Garrison pressured her to answer questions, stating she was not free to leave and would be incarcerated if she did not comply.
He is said to have called her employer a terrorist and stated that both her employer and another Yemeni person, Mo, were sending two million dollars to Yemen.
Garrison told her they were sending the police to her boss’s home to arrest him. Michael Garrison asked her what they sold and how long she had worked there. Like an idiot copper, which Garrison is, he asked her, “Do you know what people do with what they buy from you?
The most significant and most offensive thing was that, when Harwood was walking the young woman out, he repeated the false claim that people born in Yemen are terrorists and asked her to open her mobile phone and enter his personal phone number so that she could call him.

Monday 8-17-26, Sam from Marshall Vape Store contacted his attorney’s office.
They called the Madison County Sheriff’s Department to ask if he had an outstanding warrant. Nope, no warrant, even though the great Michael Garrison attested to this in his kidnapping of the female employee.
For Van Dumbkin, this is the legal description of taking a person into custody against their will. On Monday, two little deputies showed up again at Marshall Vape store demanding to speak to Sam.
Sam was not in town, as the male employee politely reported to the deputies.
But oh boy, after this, the little detective Roger Kent, who fabricated the whole search warrant and accused the owner in his rhetorical propaganda of being a Drug Dealer, contacted the male employee and wanted him to come down and talk to the sheriff’s bandits. The employee said he had nothing to say. That is when Kent lost it and asked, “Would you rather I send a squad car down to pick you up?”
Do these unhinged Flock Coppers sound desperate?
Why did they only target three? Buddy Harwood hates Aron Gosnell of the tobacco shop in Hot Springs; why? Could it be because Gosnell’s former live-in is now working for Harwood- Cindy Shores? Is this selective prosecution?
What about Mars Hill High Country-Exon Bypass-Stanleys- all the gas stations which sell these legal entities? Notice in the Roger Kent Search Warrant they sent these samples in March and claim they just received them back.
These samples have a high probability of being tainted, and if they went through the corrupt Madison Sheriff Department, they are most likely altered. Coy Phillips was known for planting evidence, with Buddy Harwood’s blessing, throughout this county in traffic stops and raids; this Sheriff Department has not changed.
Even the smell or sight of cannabis alone can justify a search warrant, and certificates have limited practical weight because state testing facilities override them if products are seized. In 2018, Congress legalized hemp in the Farm Bill, provided it contained no more than 0.3% of the psychoactive component, delta-9 THC. “THCA isn’t intoxicating until heated. Law enforcement labs use gas chromatography, which heats the sample and literally creates the molecule they’re testing for. If the Madison County Sheriff’s Department has evidence that these Yemeni business owners are indeed sending 2 million dollars back to Yemen for terrorism, then why didn’t they call the Feds or Homeland Security?
I tell you why they never called the Feds: this whole fiasco is plain bull dung created for political reasons to sway the public into thinking the Madison County Sheriff’s Department cares for the children.
All of these charges will be dismissed after the election, and Harwood will have corralled the naive Christian voter who spends all their waking hours drinking from the poison well of Fox News.
Don’t forget the Hooker Hoax that Buddy, Michael Garrison, Coy Phillips, and Colton Fore cooked up in Wolf Laurel years ago to keep the Evangelicals voting for them. The Sheriff’s Department invited the hookers well known to Michael Garrison, yet Harwood and Coy Phillips implied they were setting up a business in Madison.
Buddy Harwood shows no concern for you or your children. If he cared, he would not have changed his phone to monitor the abuse and rape of juveniles at his jail.
When Buddy Harwood changed his method of purchasing drugs for Madison County inmates from in-state to out-of-state sources, it allowed him and Coy Phillips to involve troubled kids in selling drugs to Madison County High School students.
Parents who have contacted Buddy about their children buying vape products from these shops might be better off spending more time supervising their children rather than depending on the school system to watch over them.
Marshall Vape Store does not sell to minors, but Buddy Harwood and his associates do.
If Michael Garrison had been a real Godly man, he would not have, in conjunction with Coy Phillips, tied up inmates at the Madison County Jail and beaten them.
He and Buddy would not have gone after Chief Boone when he walked in on Michael Garrison having a sex tryst with Michelle Quintero at the sheriff’s department.
Harwood and Garrison fired him and then tried to blackball him from every law enforcement agency in WNC. He found a home at the Weaverville Police Department, the only one in the area worth working for.
Harwood and company made flagrant accusations that Mo and Sam – the two Yemeni vape owners – were colluding in terrorism to send multi-million dollars back to Yemen. Sam hardly knows Mo; the only time he was at his business was to take food his Muslim wife had made because he felt sorry for him, as he had to sleep on the floor at his business.
Does this sound like a multi-millionaire conglomerate? No, this is another Harwood-Garrison con job.
Sam has a pregnant wife and two children, and he is very concerned about them. He is American-born, though that should not matter.
His parents came to America for a better life and hoped to live free without worrying about hostilities targeting them and their new family.
Yesterday, someone showed up at the Marshall Vape Shop with a film camera to film employees and harass customers as they entered the business. This kind of harassment is illegal.
I suspect this person may be linked to an unhinged group in Haywood County. When employees asked him to stop, he became combative.
In the past few weeks, since the Madison County Democratic Party rented space in Bonnie’s Appalachian Cuisine building, post-it notes saying “We are watching you” have been left on windows and doorways.
These tactics are used by the cowards of the Religious Reich, who are by far more dangerous than anything on the left. Harwood and Company are part of this clan.
In America, prejudices against people arise from a lack of understanding, education, and empathy. Sam is well-liked by his customers and acquaintances; this has backfired on Buddy Harwood.
The people of Madison County are fed up with their civil rights being trampled on by dirty flock-cops who do not practice the rule of law.
It is sad that Madison County has become this kind of Peyton Place. Only you voters can change this. Register to vote at the Democratic headquarters; they are more than happy to register you as an Independent. And vote Harwood out of office. – CH
