Did anyone check Coy’s travel expenses in the Madison County Budget?
MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) said a former Madison County chief deputy is in custody in Arizona after being arrested on multiple felony charges tied to alleged misconduct involving inmates and detention facility staff.
Officials said former chief deputy Bronis Coy Phillips was arrested on multiple charges stemming from his time while employed at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said Phillips is facing the following charges:
- Felony furnishing a controlled substance to an inmate
- Felony furnishing deadly weapons to an inmate
- Felony involuntary servitude
- Misdemeanor furnishing tobacco products to an inmate
- Misdemeanor furnishing alcoholic beverages to an inmate
- (2 counts) Felony assault with a firearm on a detention facility employee
The NCSBI said Phillips was taken into custody in Maricopa County, Arizona, just after midnight on Sunday, June 14. He is currently being held without bond, and officials said the extradition process to return him to North Carolina has begun.
Phillips was caught while trying to cross the border. It seems the Flock cameras didn’t spot him before he got away while Buddy was in charge.
Coy Phillips and Buddy Harwood have caused enough harm in this county. It’s time to make changes in the sheriff’s department.
Buddy Harwood and Michael Garrison have failed to show proper moral conduct in this county. We must take action, including prosecution and, at minimum, revocation of their certifications. This problem will continue until all responsible parties are held accountable.
Coy Phillips should not be incarcerated in the Madison County Jail; that is like letting the Mob Boss oversee the potential snitch.
By the way, does anyone know where Pee Wee Nesbitt is? He’s been covering for Harwood for years. Maybe it’s time we took a closer look at him and the younger brother who facilitated the cover-up of the jail rapes and torture at the Madison County, NC Jail.
