“THE COVER-UP is worse than the crime.”
This is an oft-repeated phrase in political circles because no matter how egregious the offense committed by corrupt public officials, those who attempt to cover it up for their own political purposes actually wind up doing more damage to the rule of law and the public trust.
You can’t make this up, folks; these elected officials are so arrogant they will gaslight and lie to the public at every opportunity and then do it in God’s name and slap the Jesus Fish!
Now by their own actions, they are caught. Let’s see if the Asheville Citizen-Times follows up.
We have a Land Use plan in place, and this planning board has made a mockery of it. You have folks in this county who are suffering because of the incompetence of this planning board-Economic Development Board, and the Board of Commissioners.
While he sat as a Madison County Planning Board member, Alan Wyatt overhauled our County Ordinances which countered our Land Use plan to profit himself.
Wyatt did this with the oversite of a paid County attorney John Noor of Roberts and Stevens. Alan Wyatt has vacation rentals in Madison County; he changed the ordinances, which could ultimately help expand his business.
Why is Alan Wyatt allowed to profit off his conflict of Interest?
The ordinances Wyatt submitted do away with protections on Square footage and setbacks. This is a blatant legal Conflict; the question is, why didn’t this attorney overseeing this clown show catch and prevent this?
We are paying out the wazoo in Attorney fees for what?
This morning I followed up with these Alan Wyatt statements with an email to the new County manager Rod Honeycutt:
Mr. Honeycutt
I am very concerned that Madison county commissioner Alan Wyatt made a false statement to the Asheville Citizen-Times regarding applicants by Hot Springs residents to the Planning Board.
As we talked about on the phone and before this vote, you were told that I applied to be appointed to the Planning Board on November 30, 2022. I am a resident of the Hot Springs area.
You even stated via a phone conversation that you were on your way into a meeting with Mandy Bradley and would make sure my application was on the record to be reviewed.
I followed the email directions to the letter even c/c the county attorney at the time, Donnie Laws, and sitting County Manager Norris Gentry. This application is attached.
There is no reasonable or lawful explanation that you did not receive my application.
Either you or your administration purposefully hid my application, Discriminated against me, or Alan Wyatt, a sitting county commissioner, deliberately lied to the Asheville Citizen-Times.
These Rino Republicans of Mars Hill want yes men to do their bidding, not citizen input throughout the county.
Notice these Republican Commissioners are pushing this trainwreck on 219 -Ralph Hise’s -Pless grant money. They are calling it a business corridor.
Would it not make better sense to secure your infrastructure before you build this? Do we need more of these vacation rental stabbing facilities in Madison?
Do you want Mars Hill telling the rest of us how we will live?
Not like they have done an excellent job over there.

The motto of the Republican Party of Madison County was reiterated in their last Thursday meeting by Mark Pless, who attended, ” We will do what we want with our property when we want to ” Isn’t he a beauty? Pless gave copious amounts of money to Madison County Republican Party to get his Aquino-looking persona over the finish line.
More coming on this next week…
Which, in legal terms, gives them standing and a vested right. Do we residents have rights or just the Good Ole RINO Boys of Mars Hill?
This county and the Town of Marshall – ( Forrest Gillium) have a legitimate civil lawsuit filed against them dealing with conspiracy and discrimination of property owners.
For Alan Wyatt to be so inept and make these false statements to the public gives more merit to the below lawsuit.
Is it not the woman in families who do most of the planning? How many more women in this County have been overlooked for boards- jobs etc., simply because they are a woman?
Below Gregory’s Lawsuit…
